CranioSacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy is is a gentle and effective form of bodywork that relieves aches and pains. It works with the micro motions in the body to restore normal functioning of the systems. The goal is to have the body free of restrictions.

By working with the micro motions and inherent rhythms of the body, the rhythms move fluid back and forth over the joints. The nerve endings function and fire and tell the muscles to relax. Joints gently slip into place and the pain goes away. Clients' response is one of deep relaxation and calm.

Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT)
TAT is a specific energy-based healing modality developed by Tapas Fleming that combines lightly holding a few acupressure points on your head (the TAT Pose) as you put your attention on a problem (the Steps of TAT). With this technique, you can profoundly improve any aspect of your life - it's been called a "portal of grace." TAT can address traumas, negative beliefs, allergies and weight loss.

In 2005, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded a pilot study with scientists from the Kaiser Center for Health Research and the University of Arizona comparing TAT for weight loss maintenance with two other approaches (Qi Gong and behavioral advice). Each group was given 10 hours of instruction over a twelve week period in the method they used. Ninety-two adults were involved in the study. The TAT group gained little weight whereas the other two groups gained at least six times as much. There were no adverse effects of TAT.

Tapas Fleming is a licensed Acupuncturist in California. She developed Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT)® in 1993. She lives with her family in Redondo Beach and travels worldwide teaching TAT.

Myofacial Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger point therapy is a non-invasive, hands-on treatment for relieving pain and stiffness. The therapist identifies the muscles causing pain and applies manual pressure until the trigger point releases. A trigger point is
  • a hypertensive painful area on the muscle
  • has a knot-like feel and causes the muscle to tighten and shorten which limits motion
  • occurs with pain that is local or referred and presents in predictable patterns

A typical session takes approximately one hour. You remain clothed and resting on a treatment table. After an initial session you can expect to feel a notable change with a decrease in pain and an increase in range of motion. You are encouraged to re-educate your nervous system through stretching to restore and maintain your natural range of motion.

Therapist:  Tom James, CMTP, Certified member of the National Association of Myofascial Trigger Point therapists, graduate of the Pittsburgh School of Pain Management.
